LED Grow Light Review – UFO

The UFO… It’s where it all started back around 5 years ago and it served it’s purpose way back when but since then technology has advanced so drastically that I really can’t recommend that anyone buy a UFO led grow light at this time simply because they are completely outdated technology and can’t come close to delivering the results of today’s refined technology high power led grow lights.

That said, a bit of a background on the 90w UFO led grow light… At first they came in a single spectrum either red for flower or blue for veg. Then the good folks at grow perfect technology invented dual spectrum and they came with both red and blue diodes, a short while after once again the folks at grow perfect technology released a model where you could switch between veg and flower modes. This invention was called Spectrol spectrum control and was pretty leading edge way back in the day. Next came advancements in the spectrum, dual spectrum  became tri-spectrum then quad spectrum or Q-Spec. By this time the UFO led had pretty much run it’s course in the birth of the led grow light industry and was being widely replaced by larger 5 spectrum, 8 spectrum, 10 spectrum and now 11 spectrum led grow lights.

If you see a company offering UFO style led grow lights for sale in 90w, 180w and larger configurations steer clear because they are buying these relics dirt cheap from Chinese factories and preying upon those of us that don’t know any better. I highly DO NOT recommend buying any UFO style led grow light, they DO NOT work and are comprised of old outdated technology. Save your money!

I would run a combination of magnum plus and magnum fixtures. I would make the flower 8 x 5 and the veg also 8 x 5 and run 3 magnum plus units in the flower area and 3 original magnums in the veg area. Keep the mother in the veg room along with clones and vegging plants. Use 1 gallon pots for your vegging plants and replat into 3.5 gallon airpots when you move them into the flower area. Run 50% perlite and 50% promix or sunshine mix and run with General Hydroponics organic nutrients. This will give you the highest quality medical marijuana available on earth!
